Walibi Lost Gravity

Speciale Projecten / Walibi – Lost Gravity

Walibi Lost Gravity - Biddinghuizen

In collaboration with a German partner, Van Mourik Bouw built the Lost Gravity ride at Walibi Holland theme park. The ride, a BigDipper-style rollercoaster, opened in March 2016. The black and yellow steel track takes visitors up to a height of 32 metres and then sends them plunging downwards via a twisted drop. Lost Gravity reaches a top speed of 87 kilometres per hour, completing the 680-metre-long track in 82 seconds.

Van Mourik Bouw was responsible for the dimensioning, the foundation consisting of heavy bored piles topped with foundation beams to which the anchors were secured, and the departure and arrival halls.

About

In the entrance hall of the attraction, a hall of mirrors has been created using steel shipping containers. We also constructed a large number of steel 3D squares, each of which tilts slightly to create a playful effect. Beneath these steel squares, we laid the specially designed serrated concrete walkways.
