In the heart of Amsterdam-Zuid, Van Mourik Bouw transformed a characterful property of over 450 m² into a modern family home with a warm, contemporary feel.
After being completely stripped back to its foundations, the house was rebuilt step by step. Every room was realised with care and precision — from the structural work to the finest finishing touches. A four-metre-deep extension across the full width of the house created a flood of light and space, giving rise to an impressive open-plan kitchen: the new heart of the home.
For the bespoke joinery, natural stone and technical installations, Van Mourik Bouw collaborated with a number of carefully selected partners. The result is an interior where craftsmanship and refinement come together. A real eye-catcher is the floating staircase, a sculptural focal point that runs through the home like a work of art, elegantly connecting the floors.
On the top floor, Van Mourik Bouw created a private gym, sauna and steam shower, whilst the master bathroom features natural stone with an open-book pattern — a subtle interplay of lines and luxury.
