High-quality renovation of a listed building in Amsterdam
On the Amsterdam canals, Van Mourik Bouw carried out the complete renovation of a historic residence spanning over 700 m². The building, a listed national monument with a rich history, was restored on the outside and completely converted and finished on the inside to create a high-end residence incorporating all the modern amenities.
Working as part of a construction team alongside the client and architect, Van Mourik Bouw carried out this special project, preserving the historic details whilst achieving a contemporary, high-end finish.
Innovation & modern comfort
The entire building services system was renewed and fitted with the latest technology, including zone-controlled underfloor heating, air conditioning, humidification and advanced home automation systems. A new glass lift was also installed, combined with a bespoke staircase that respects the open structure of the stairwell.
Expert craftsmanship in finishing and interior design
In addition to all the structural work, such as the soundproof floors, new ceilings with all their intricate details and the exclusive bathrooms – including the master bathroom finished in natural stone – Van Mourik Bouw oversaw the installation and coordination of, amongst other things, new parquet floors that seamlessly connect to the bathroom floors, high-quality plasterwork and painting, bespoke interiors, bespoke natural stone flooring on the ground floor at the entrance, etc.
This has created a harmonious whole in which the historic character blends seamlessly with modern living comfort and luxurious finishes.
