De Terp - Erichem

A major fire on April 23, 2022, completely destroyed the industrial buildings of De Terp CV. This had a huge impact on the owners of De Terp CV, whom we knew well from previous new construction projects we had built for them in the past. Fortunately, circumstances allowed the owners of De Terp to rebuild the burned-down industrial space. We at van Mourik Bouw were approached for this project.

Bijzonderheden

The new facility consists of five industrial buildings, including one for storing empty crates, two storage halls for storing and preserving pumpkins “under specific conditions,” a sorting hall, and a combined hall with a built-in automated cutting kitchen for cutting and packaging pumpkins into cubes or strips.

We also built a complete residential home at the front of one of the industrial spaces and, in the other, the office with ancillary facilities.

The systems for the residential and office spaces are state-of-the-art and integrated with the industrial halls. The heat released by the product is reused to heat the buildings. If this heat is insufficient, it is supplemented by a heat pump. The residential and office spaces feature wall heating; these walls are finished with clay.

Two large “natural” clay stoves have also been built in to provide the necessary heat.
All these heat and energy sources, including the solar panels on the roofs, are controlled by a smart system, ensuring comprehensive energy management.

Details

The residence and office, which we built at the front end of two industrial buildings, were constructed entirely using CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber). This means that the structure and walls are made entirely of solid softwood. This approach embodies a highly sustainable method of construction and results in a stunningly beautiful design. These spaces also have a natural and warm feel to them.
