Short construction time, high quality.

OUR VISION

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

Van Mourik Bouw has been run for quite some time by the two brothers Dany and Johan van Mourik. In 2014, the brothers jointly took over the family business from their father, Arie van Mourik senior, who founded the company from his house in 1980. In 2004 the company moved to new business premises at De Geer 18 in Ophemert, a village located next to Tiel on the A15 in the middle of the country. From there, the company was further expanded to what it is today. At the end of 2021, Van Mourik Bouw took over the family business Rasing Bouw from Culemborg, creating a second branch in Culemborg and expanding the team of professionals.

After the takeover, Van Mourik Bouw specialized in two different branches of construction, with Dany van Mourik dealing with the utility construction branch and Johan van Mourik focusing on luxury (apartment) construction. Over the years, the company has grown from a regional company, that was mainly engaged in carpentry and renovations, to a company that operates nationwide and even across the border, with a wealth of experience of more than 40 years in building, restoration and renovation.

Presently, the company specializes in building luxury residences, and the renovations and rebuilding of monumental buildings. Van Mourik Bouw, together with their team of 50 highly professional employees, ensures that commercial buildings such as offices and business premises for production and logistics are completed with high efficiency and quality.

Construction process and high quality requirements

The complexity of construction is not limited to the building phase as variations in individual construction projects pose their own challenges. For example, in utility construction, not only the building is important, but the logistics at production and the speed of construction are of higher priority.

Van Mourik Bouw adopts a consultative approach to understand individual characteristics of each project, which helps them think along with the client to ensure project success. For high-end construction, it is more important to pay additional attention to noise requirements, in combination to a high-quality finish that can only be realized with the right parties and specialisms. Ensuring that all those hundreds of parts involved in a construction come to the right place, in the right order and within the right time frame, is something Van Mourik Bouw can do!

In addition to its own project managers, contractors and carpenters, Van Mourik Bouw has its own carpentry factory where high-quality wood products are manufactured for both new build projects and specific wood products for restoration. In this way, Van Mourik Bouw keeps the entire process in its own hands and it can realize the highest possible quality and speed.

Teamwork

In summary, the focus during the realization of a project is on carefully monitoring the construction process, controlling the planning, monitoring the budget and continuous quality control. This is accompanied by intensive contact, short lines of communication with the client, (interior) architects and other parties who participate in the construction process. Van Mourik Bouw believes that building is a joint effort that requires intensive cooperation with all parties involved and that this creates the best result for both clients and builders.

Restoration

Monuments deserve to be treated with great care, whether it concerns maintenance or a major restoration. At Van Mourik Bouw, we maintain the monuments with respect for the history and the details of a building. Restoration goes further than just ‘stacking stones’. It requires craftsmanship and people who know the intricacies of the craft and are aware of the monumental environment in which we work. The aim is to ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy the historical value that monumental buildings and heritages represent.

We have the knowledge, experience and specialized staff to preserve monuments. Furthermore, thanks to practical experience, we always make realistic plans for restoration projects. In this way, the time is spent efficiently, we prevent setbacks during the restoration and we save costs. Precisely because our professionals know from the practice and expertise of the craft what does or does not fit with the restoration work and the possibilities, we are able to proactively advise our clients in the process. In this process we come up with technically high-quality solutions. Solutions in fulfilling a customer need with great respect and passion for the monumental building.

The restoration work is a process in which the client and contractor work together towards a satisfying end result. We like to work directly together in consultation with architects, installers and other advisors of the client. Our role is to share our knowledge and to be solution-oriented. We share our knowledge with regard to the possibilities, risks, budget and planning. We strive to preserve existing materials. We have a transparent and open vision and working method.
